IBS of Provence Student Tops the World: Best Mark in IGCSE English!

Georg Ertel, a student in DP1, has achieved the highest mark in the world on the IGCSE English as a Second Language exam last year as a Pre-IB2 student! A remarkable feat that testifies to his talent and hard work!

Georg, of German nationality, brilliantly passed this international exam, surpassing hundreds of thousands of candidates worldwide. He thus joins the very exclusive circle of students who have obtained this distinction, and succeeds Mathilde, our brilliant student who achieved the highest mark in the world in IGCSE French as a First Language last year.

But Georg is not content to excel on the school benches. He is also an accomplished athlete, passionate about basketball and a member of our sports-studies section as well as the USSB (Simiane Bouc-Bel-Air). His adjusted schedule allows him to harmoniously combine studies and sports, thus demonstrating his ability to excel in all areas.

The awards ceremony, which took place in the presence of his classmates, the management and the teaching team, was a moment of great emotion. Mr. Gobbi, Director and Founder of the school, rightly pointed out that Georg is "a brilliant and hardworking student, a source of inspiration for all our students."

The IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is an internationally recognized exam, affiliated with the prestigious University of Cambridge and taken by over a million 10th-grade students each year. Georg's performance highlights the excellence of our international section, which prepares our students for international exams such as the IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate.

Georg Ertel perfectly embodies the values of excellence, personal development and openness to the world that we cultivate at IBS of Provence. We are extremely proud of him and extend our warmest congratulations for this exceptional achievement.
